Houses of Parliament Visit
The School Council visited the Houses of Parliament on Thursday. They had a tour of the House of Commons, visited Westminster Hall and listened to part of a live debate. As part of the visit, pupils also had the opportunity to take part in an interactive workshop, where they discovered how MPs debate key issues and how a government is formed. They enjoyed learning about our democratic system, our local constituencies, MPs, and began to think about issues which are debated in Parliament.
Famous said, ‘I learnt that the Queen only attends Parliament once a year to open it. I enjoyed learning about what Politicians do.’ Thank you to all the pupils for being so curious and articulate and a big thank you to Mrs Gouldbourne for accompanying the School Council on their visit.
