Orange Class – Collective Worship

Orange Class offered a marvellous collective worship today as they discussed the word “Friends” and “Friendship”. They discussed how important being friendly to others and showing respect in friendship is. They also showed us how good their Spanish is as they translated the word “Friend” into Spanish, which is “Amigo”!

We took some pictures of the collective worship, which can be view via the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.

Year 1 visit All Saints Church

With the festive season upon us, it is important to understand the true Christian meaning of this time of year. In order to do this, Year 1 class paid a visit to All Saints Church in Peckham so that they could hear all about the Christian message and the story of Christ.

They learned about the features of the church and acted out the Nativity. We took some pictures of the visit, which can be seen in the gallery below.

Nativity Performance

Reception and Key Stage 1 children performed their version of the Nativity called ‘It’s a Party,’ this week.  The children sang brilliantly and enjoyed themselves.  Thank you to all the staff who worked so hard to put together the performance.

Also, thank you to parents and carers who supported the performance and gave generously to our Uganda link school.  We raised £30.

Bishop Karowei visits our school!

We enjoyed a lovely Eucharist Service with Bishop Karowei and Reverend Adams this week.  Faith Group lead the service and Year 6 received the bread and ‘wine’ or a blessing.  Bishop Karowei spoke about the importance of Compassion through the parable of the Good Samaritan.  He encouraged us to show kind actions to others when they are in need and to avoid laughing at them even though we may feel like it.

Bishop Karowei also blessed and opened our new prayer space in the playground.  This will be a special place for children and adults to use for reflection and personal prayer.

Faith Group enjoyed a breakfast meeting with Bishop Karowei.  They found out more about him and his role by asking questions such as, “When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?”  We learnt he used to be a doctor before he was selected to be the Bishop of Woolwich.  What a great day!
