Children in Need 2019

As you know Children in Need is on Friday 15th November next week. We have been organising a plethora of exciting activities and events for the day, to make it the most exciting and fun as possible for everyone.

We will have a Children in Need collective worship tomorrow to go through the plan, so please feel free to ask me any questions after this. We will all be taking part in the” Big Morning Move” at the hall, where each class will be able to enjoy 15 min of positive exercise throughout the day.

More information on the big morning move and other activities, including how to donate will be made available in our latest newsletter so watch this space!

Anti-Bullying Week 2019

Throughout this week St Mary Magdalene Primary School will be taking part in Anti-Bullying Week 2019 organised again this year by the Anti-bullying alliance. This year’s focus is “Change Starts with Us!”. This means that we are responsible for making changes in our lives to ensure that we are all helping to make bullying a thing of the past.

The children will take part in a series of exciting and enlightening workshops throughout the week set out for both KS1 and KS2 children. The children thoroughly enjoyed the workshops and offered some really interesting questions to the workshop hosts.

The video on this page gives a brief but clear insight into this years campaign and we hope that you too will join us in making bullying a distant memory for all of us.

Odd Socks Day

At St Mary Magdalene we are always encouraging children to be empathetic and supportive of each other.  Next week we will be starting our ‘anti-bullying’ themed weeks.  Children will be participating in lessons and workshops  to promote an anti-bullying culture.

On Tuesday 12th November we are inviting children to wear ‘odd socks’.  This will celebrate and symbolise the similarities and differences between us.  The children will be encouraged to accept difference and treat others with the respect they deserve.
